This course covers the what, how, and why of gas detection. Participants explore various types of gases, oxygen levels, explosion limits, and safe working values. In addition, different types of gas detection equipment are discussed, including their practical advantages and limitations.By the end of the course, you will understand how to assess atmospheric conditions, recognize potential hazards, and apply gas detection safely and effectively.

The following topics are covered:

You learn the definition, atmospheric hazards, and categories of working in confined spaces.
You gain insight into the applicable laws and regulations when entering confined spaces.
You recognize specific safety risks and create a safe working environment.
You recognize and respond appropriately to oxygen-deficient and oxygen-enriched atmospheres.
You gain general knowledge of LEL, UEL, the flammability range, and relative response curves.
You recognize key concepts such as flash point, vapor pressure, and vapor density.
You use a personal gas meter correctly.
You measure oxygen levels using electrochemical oxygen sensors.
You measure explosion levels using catalytic sensors for flammable gases.
You measure toxic concentrations using electrochemical toxic sensors.
You maintain gas monitoring equipment properly.
You perform fresh-air calibration and bump testing.

This training will continue with a minium group size of 4 people.

Certificering	Rescue 3 Europe - Air monitoring Foundation
Hercertificering	Rescue3 Europe certifications are valid for three years. Within this period, you are required to complete a refresher training or a follow‑up training. In addition, it is recommended to participate in annual refresher training. In order to remain sufficiently trained an to meet the legal requirements (Labour Conditions Act.), we advise to follow a training annually. Also called logbook training.
